Known for his recent role, Mr William on the now popular Maria series, Musyoka made a name for himself as the tycoon with the ‘ultimate father figure character.'

At the Voice of Kenya, Musyoka was a news director, often giving directions to the anchors, camera operators, producers and graphic designers.

His story would, however, be changed forever after a news anchor failed to show up for work forcing him to take over and read the news.

"My boss told me to wear my suit and get into the studio. That was my first-ever TV appearance," he narrated to a YouTuber.

He would later be given a show at the station named Just A Moment, where he was tasked with the responsibility of interviewing different personalities from across the country.

All through his school life, Musyoka featured in a number of plays and upon completing his A Level (Form Six) education then, he would join the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC).

"It was a one year accelerated program. They wanted producers and that's how I got to know that my calling was in theatre and acting."

He would later go on to become a cast in a TV series where he played a minor role on Nairobi Law and afterwards a main character on Mashtaka. Besides acting, he also helped in the development of the storyline for Mashtaka.

Speaking on how he landed the role of Mr William Hausa on Maria, the actor narrated that he was a Master of Ceremony (MC) at his sister's wedding when he received a call.

He kept ignoring the phone call as it was from an unknown number. However, when he called back, a man requested to meet him to discuss business.

"I realised a friend of mine had given my contact to the producers who wanted me to try out a role on Maria."

Musyoka says that upon looking at the script, he instantly realised that the series would be a great TV show, but his imagination on the viewership reach was far from the reality.

"Nothing prepared me for what was coming. Maria began at an interesting time, it was on a station that is watched by a lot of people, during prime time, the women were watching and so their husbands had to watch the series as well."

"The men would pretend that they were not interested in watching but would discuss it when they went to the bars," he added.

Musyoka disclosed that every time he gets a role, he does his due diligence on the character to perform to his best.

The thespian is currently a screenplay writer for 'Zora', a TV show produced by Jiffy Pictures and airs on Citizen TV.
