As we approach the 2022 General Election many media houses are doing major restructuring to enable easy and smooth coverage of the polls.

Recently as of Monday, November 1, K24 was able to acquire two top Swahili news anchors from Ebru TV. The two being Busara Naaman and Milia Kisienya.

Busara Naaman joined Ebru back in 2018 and after her three-year period at the media house, she has joined K24 where her role will be both as a Swahili news anchor and reporter.

Also, TV47 is among the media houses that were able to get top talents from the loss by EBRU TV.

Eric Munene, the former Head of News at Ebru, joined TV47 where he will be the news editor as well as a news anchor.

Eric announced his recent switch in a statement on social media.

“Today we edit the bio. We thank God. Also, TV47 is now on GOTV channel 102,” Munene’s announced.

Last month on Monday, October 11, TV47 unveiled their new state of the art studio as they intend to better their coverage of the upcoming General Election.

“Our intention is to prepare for the elections, given that we pride ourselves as being a media house that is impartial not aligned to any side. This will help us have fair coverage to all in the political space,” he stated.

Nation Media Group (NMG) recently did some reshuffling of its high-ranking editors after back-to-back resignations of its top journalists.

This was made aware through a memo dated October 29, that was sent out to all editorial staff.

NMG's Group Editorial Director Mutuma Mathiu explained that the changes were aimed at re-invigorating print products, supporting digital transformation and filling existing vacancies.
