The Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, Nadia Ahmed, on Friday, November 5, went on a tirade after a guest on Citizen TV alleged that all CAS' are wrongfully holding office.
The guest, a youthful politician by the name Ruth Ambogo, insinuated that a majority of the CAS's in office are in relationships with senior government officials and that is how they landed their current roles.
In a rejoinder, Nadia, through a statement on her social media pages, termed the sentiments as distasteful and primitive.
"I am very disturbed by some sentiments that were made on a TV Interview by a youthful individual who really believes that most of us (‘CAS’s) are appointed as girlfriends of Cabinet Secretaries or in Clandestine relationships with senior politicians.
"This is the reason why most young ladies stay away from the limelight or shy away from taking up powerful seats because it always trickled down to ‘She Must be sleeping’ or ‘Dating someone’ to achieve such success!" Nadia stated.
Nadia further stated that Ambogo ought to be ashamed of herself for making such sentiments.
She added that most of the CAS's were working tirelessly to prove that young women are paving ways for the rest of the generation.
"I am a firm believer of occupying any space given to you and never letting a human being water-down your shine or hard work!" she concluded.
In the fiery interview that led to Ambogo walking out of Citizen TV's morning show, the youthful politician threatened to list all the CAS's whom she alleged were in relationships with senior government officials.
“The group sat down analysed Cabinet positions and accorded to themselves. All the CASs appointed to office are wrongfully holding these positions as most of them are in relationships with senior government officials. If you want me to list them, I will,” Ambogo dared.
Trevor Ombija, who was hosting the show, declined the challenge.
