Citizen TV news anchor, Trevor Ombija, was forced to cut short his morning show after a guest walked out of the studio following a heated exchange.

A verbal confrontation ensued between Ombija and Ruth Ambogo after the anchor stepped in to calm the agitated youthful politician who had accused other guests of peddling lies against her.

Ambogo was invited alongside entrepreneur Steve Biko and Rebecca Moraa, a youth leader in the recently launched Strugglers Movement, to discuss matters touching on youth and governance .

Ombija, asked her to outline strategies she believed can be used to create jobs.

While deviating from the question, Ambogo argued that she appeared in her last political interview on Monday, November 1, and that the morning show on Citizen TV with Ombija was also her last as a panelist.

“You will not hear from me on matters politics. For a very long time, I have suggested policy changes that have been adopted by the government and no one believes so. These young people seated here are pushing the narrative that I am just but an appointee.

“I am not serving any master. I got to that office by merit. For a very long time, I was denied government appointments because I did not have a degree, now am graduating with a First Class Honours in Law from Strathmore University. The group sat down and peddled lies against me.

“The group sat down analysed Cabinet positions and accorded to themselves. All the CASs appointed to office are wrongfully holding these positions as most of them are in relationships with senior government officials. If you want me to list them I will,” Ambogo dared.

Ombija, cautious of the allegations, declined to accept the challenge.

Ambogo added that Daughters of Raila was formed to defend the youth who were always denied these government opportunities.

In a thinly veiled attack on Deputy President William Ruto, Ambogo stated that a leader who tells churches that he is the chosen one is a liar as only God chooses a leader.

“You have not answered my question. This is my show. I ask the questions and you answer,” Ombija interrupted.

“Listen to me Ombija, I will finish my statement. I will answer, then leave and never make a statement again,” she interjected.

“You are allowed to leave,” Ombija stated as he requested the news director to take a break.

The panel called out the government over its failure to create jobs for the youth and failing to create a conducive environment for doing business.

Moraa, a youth leader in the Strugglers Movement, called on the government to reduce taxation to help the youth to sufficiently support themselves as the economy has crippled the youth's ability to venture in entrepreneurship.

"The youth in this country do not own any businesses, as the old generation has refused to hand over, and that is the sad reality," Biko lamented on the state of the youth.
