Murang'a governor and presidential hopeful Mwangi wa Iria is wooing the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) leader Raila Odinga ahead of the 2022 general election.

While speaking to the press on Thursday, November 11, the governor offered the former Prime Minister a running mate post, saying the deal would be unbeatable.

He stated that he has the numbers from the Mount Kenya region, and if they combine that with the votes from Raila's backyard they will be unstoppable.

“I am looking for a running mate in the 2022 Presidential race and I am requesting Raila Odinga to take that offer,”

“I have the numbers and all these presidential hopefuls know that I have over 12M votes,” the governor stated.

He proceeded to urge Raila that while continuing with his tour in the Mount Kenya Region, he should make the announcement that he has joined forces with him.

This, he said, is the only way Raila will have the chance to get to the State Souse, because of the huge numbers they will have, after his previous attempts failed.

“I have received information that my friend Raila will be in Gatura tomorrow. I want to ask him to announce that he has taken the offer.

“If I have 12 million votes from Mount Kenya, and Raila adds 4M from the Nyanza region, we will automatically be in the State House,” he stated.

Notably, Wa Iria hilariously stated that since he is the only one who has the tyranny of numbers, all the other aspirants should shelve their presidential ambitions and agree on one person to deputize him.

“I want to ask all the presidential aspirants in the country to hold a meeting and decide who amongst them will be my running mate.

“I am saying this because the position of a running mate is usually reserved to those with few numbers. I have the highest and the others follow by far,” he remarked.
