KUCCPS: How to Apply for TVET Courses

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the portal for students seeking to apply for diplomas, certificates and artisan courses in a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution. 

According to KUCCPS, the online application begins on Monday, November 15, and will end on Monday, November 28.

Those seeking to apply for artisan certificate courses should possess a minimum KCSE Grade of E, craft certificate courses should have a mean grade of D (plain) and above. On the other hand, those seeking to apply for diploma courses should have a mean grade of C- (minus) and above.

"All KCSE certificate holders who have not benefitted from government-sponsorship for TVET training before are eligible to apply where they meet the minimum requirements, regardless of the year one sat for the KCSE examination," KUCCPS stated.

How to Apply:

All applications must be done online through the student's portal accessible through the KUCCPS website www.kuccps.ac.ke

Log in using your credentials ie KCSE index number, KCSE year and password.

(For your initial password, use your birth certificate number or KCSE index number)

Once you've logged in, select four courses that you would like to pursue and the government institution.

List them in order of priority, the first being the most preferable and the fourth being the least.

Once done click submit.

KUCCPS further pointed out that all applicants can access their Service desk for more information or support from various Huduma centres. Among these centers include Nairobi (GPO), Mombasa, Kisumu, Nyeri, Garissa, Kitui, Eldoret, Kakamega, Meru, Kitale, Thika, Isiolo, Narok, Laikipia and Nakuru.

The KUCCPS boss Agnes Wahome had reiterated that they would conduct a review of the degree and diploma criteria for placement of government-sponsored students to universities. 

She added that the minimum entry requirements to universities and colleges would be changed after receiving complaints from students and other education stakeholders.
