The Royal Media Services (RMS) has announced it will be launching a new Luo TV station on Monday, November 29.
In a promotional video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, RMS announced a lineup of it's presenters including; Sharon Ong'ao, Cleophas Oluoch, Joyce Oduor, George Bati, Lydia Okeo, Ochieng Emmanuel, Syprose Okinda and Jael Lieta.
Standing out from the list is Citizen TV's Trevor Ombija who will also be joining presenters at the station.
At the time of publishing, it was not clear whether Ombija would leave his duties at Citizen TV or work in both stations.
"In the luo nation and Kenya as a whole, we mark a new dawn. From the Royal Media services we bring you the latest news through reporting from our journalists," the broadcaster stated.
The company's Managing Director Wachira Waruru previously stated that the company had put in place measures to cater for its burgeoning audience.
"RMS will systematically embark on the first phase of product diversification and business consolidation by unveiling four vernacular TV services.
"Having pioneered vernacular radio broadcasting, we are keen to continue providing unrivalled and quality broadcast content to Kenyans in their first languages," Wachira stated.
The Royal Media Services is home to the most popular television and radio channels.
The Media House has two television stations (Citizen TV, InooroTV), fourteen radio stations, twelve of which are vernacular to cater to the diverse cultures in the region and a Video on Demands platform (Viusasa).
The radio stations include Radio Citizen, Ramogi FM, Inooro FM, Musyi FM, Chamgei FM, Muuga FM, Egesa FM, Bahari FM, Mulembe FM, Wimwaro FM, Sulwe FM, Hot 96 and Vuuka FM.
