Ruaraka Member of Parliament TJ Kajwang’ was the centre of attention on Thursday,  November 25, 2021, during the unveiling of Kalonzo Musyoka as the Wiper Party’s 2022 presidential flag bearer.

In a short and cheerful speech to Wiper delegates at Kasarani Sports Stadium, Kajwang' urged Kalonzo to use all methods feasible to make sure that his people are not left out of the government after the 2022 General Election.

The ODM MP poured praise on the Wiper Chief, saying that his impeccable skills in the field of diplomacy gave him an upper hand in becoming part of next term’s government.

“His Excellency you are endowed with diplomacy. You are an advocate for so many years. My plea to you Steve, use your talent, use your skills, whichever way you find it, find a way to take us to government,” he said.

In what would be seen as a courting exercise by ODM lieutenants to their longstanding political accomplice, Kajwang stated that the common enemy for all opposition parties was corruption and exclusion in government.

Speaking during the same event, ODM leader Raila Odinga hinted that he could not pour cold water on working with the former Vice President, adding that they had a common mission that was yet to come true.

“I am sure that what Kalonzo wants is what Raila wants. Our road will meet again ahead,” Raila remarked.

The former Prime Minister further castigated his opponents who raised eyebrows after he was invited by the Wiper party during the event, saying that he was invited cordially by his former running mate.

In his part, Kalonzo stated that he would prioritize fighting corruption if elected president, stating that the wanton vice had impoverished people to levels not seen again.

He added that corruption had crucified the lives of most Kenyan youths, with those implicated still peddling lies of development to the already disillusioned Kenyans.

“It pains my heart sincerely to see our nation impoverished because of corruption. Thieves are running around the country masquerading as saviours while crucifying our children's future," the former Vice President remarked.

Wiper held its national delegates meeting at a time when its mother coalition, One Kenya Alliance, is in a daunting race to earn acceptability across the country.
