President Uhuru Kenyatta has conferred a section of individuals with awards owing to their outstanding services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities.

The names of the awardees were published in the Friday, December 17, Gazette.

Some of the individuals who were awarded with the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya and in the second class E.G.H include Chief Justice Martha Karambu Koome, Cabinet Secretaries Keriako Tobiko, Margaret Kobia and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) boss, Maj. Gen (Rtd.) Philip Wachira Kameru.

Those awarded the Third Class of the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (M.G.H.) include State House Comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua, Prof. Olive Mugenda and the Kenya Revenue Authority Commissioner General, James Githii Mburu.

Maj. Gen. Njiru Peter Mbogo,  Maj. Gen. Manambo Solomon Mlacha,  Maj. Gen. Shume William Karisa, Maj. Gen. Kahariri Charles Muriu, Youth and Gender CAS Rachel Shebesh and Nelson Gaichuhie Ributhi were among those conferred with the first class: Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS).

Among those awarded Head of State Commendation (HSC - Civilian Division) include Citizen TV news anchor, Jamila Mohammed, Eng. Alooh Millicent, Eng. Joel Alfred Mwendwa, Dr. Muthuki Janet Muthoni, Dr. Atera Evans Atuti, Dr. Kinuthia Monicah Njeri, Lutta Sussane and Beril Obanda among others.

Some of those awarded Head of State Commendation (HSC - Military Division) include Col. Nzuki Fredrick Musee, Col. Kang'ethe Victor Waithaka, Lt. Col. Kirimi Osbert Festus, Lt. Col. Githehu Purity Wanjiru, Maj. Njoroge Patrick Nduhiu, Maj. Fernandes Naema Abdirizak, Maj. Murogo Joseph Ndegwa, among others.

Those awarded the Silver Star of Kenya include Lt. Nur Ali Mohamed (posthumous), Cpl. Koome Martin, Cpl. Rashid Issack Hussein, Snr. Pte. Mwangi Joseph Wanjau, SSP Wambugu Joseph Muthagani (posthumous), IP Gichuki Kenneth Kiama, PC Kiunga Norman Mwongera, PC Chilison Maurice Chitiani and others.

One person was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Order (DCO), Maj. Kuria John (posthumous).

The Distinguished Service Medal was awarded to CI Mbaja Tom Odhiambo, CI Ochieng Deus Onyango and IP Otieno Albert Ogaga.
