NTV news anchor, Daniel Mule, announced his departure from the station minutes after giving his final remarks on prime time news aired on Friday, December 31.
Reminiscing of the decade tenure, Mule thanked his fans and colleagues for the support throughout his career.
He revealed how his dream to work in the media industry began while he was carrying sacks of maize at the National Cereals And Produce Board (NCPB) depot in Nakuru.
Mule's journey in the media industry kicked off after he began as a writer for Taifa Leo and the Nation newspaper.
Seizing the opportunity, Mule's creativity impressed the management and he was given a chance to anchor news and report for newly launched QTV at the time.
Earning a mass appeal from the public, Mule was moved to anchor prime time news for Nation Media Group's flagship station, NTV.
While giving his final remarks, he thanked his team for the rare opportunity to fulfill the dream.
"I thank God for the opportunity to work at this station. I got this dream of working as an anchor while doing menial jobs at NCPB in Nakuru.
"The same God who gave me that dream, made it come to fruition hence I say to where there's a will, there's a way," he stated.
His colleagues surprised him with a cake while bidding him farewell minutes before the 7PM Swahili bulletin ended.
From the Swahili desk Managing Editor Salim Swaleh to Fridah Mwaka, the staff expressed their gratitude for working with the acclaimed journalist.
Mule's resignation comes after a number of top journalists left the Kimathi Street-based media house. In 2021, the likes of senior anchor and editor Jane Ngoiri and Anita Nkonge announced their departure.
Recently, Edmond Nyabola called it quits after three years since being recalled in 2019. In December 2021, Gladys Gachanja also left the station after hosting "Your World."
Two months prior, former Business anchor cum reporter Victor Kiprop, also announced his departure from the station.
