Deputy President William Ruto continues to pile pressure on the Amani National Congress (ANC) leader, Musalia Mudavadi, to join his movement and support his presidential bid.

Speaking on Thursday, January 6, at the ANC party leader's Vihiga backyard, DP Ruto stated that he stood a better chance to clinch the presidency compared to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga, as he wooed Mudavadi.

DP Ruto also took the opportunity to beseech Mudavadi to ditch Raila and support his presidential ambitions ahead of the August polls noting that as a team they would make a greater impact.

He opined that Raila was not an ideal pair for Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula as he sold his hustler narrative. The DP asked the crowd to sway Mudavadi and Ford Kenya Party leader, Moses Wetangula, to join his camp.

"Should Musalia and Wetangula work with me?" Ruto asked and the crowd responded cheering in the affirmative.

"I am humbly asking them to join forces with me so that we unite people and form the next government. We need to plan how we will give these young people jobs and promote businesses."

These sentiments by DP Ruto come a day after One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals issued a statement dispelling assertions that they had been invited for coalition talks by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Deputy President.

Mudavadi stated that OKA had not been formally invited to talks by either ODM leader Raila Odinga or DP Ruto as earlier reported by the media.

He also stated that they (OKA) will deal with the coalition issue when they get the invites from either Azimio La Umoja which is backing Raila Odinga or UDA which is fronting Ruto.

Wetangula also denied receiving any invite from UDA and claimed that the media was forming opinions and OKA is yet to announce any coalitions interests.

The OKA principals also stated that they were growing and attracting key political stakeholders such as the Mount Kenya Unity Forum.

ANC members such as Kakamega Senator, Cleophas Malala, have been pushing Mudavadi to in forces with Ruto in the 2022 Presidential election.
