Kirinyaga Women Representative, Purity Wangui Ngirici, has revealed intricate details of how her affiliation with Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, and President Uhuru Kenyatta led to her fallout with Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking on Kameme FM on Tuesday, January 18, Ngirici detailed how she worked with PS Kibicho to resolve a title deed issue that had become a pressing need for the Kirinyaga people.

According to the County Member of Parliament, the incumbent Kirinyaga governor, Anne Waiguru, was responsible for delaying the process.

In a bid to solve the issue, Ngirici sent Kibicho to plead with the Head of State in order for the title deed to be produced- a matter which the President addressed.

"We sent him (Kibicho) to plead with the President for the title deed issue to be sorted and it was dealt with. So for a person whose interests is the Kirinyaga people in terms of development, I asked myself what would be the use of  fighting with someone who shares the same interests?" she posed.

At the time, she noted that she received backlash from politicians affiliated with Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

"You're told not to talk with this person because you are in different political parties. I can show you the messages from the UDA WhatsApp group, I was insulted for communicating with Kibicho. They called me the 'devil' in the group," she pointed out.

The Gubernatorial aspirant also affirmed her decision to vie as an independent candidate- noting that she would not relent her bid for political party affiliations.

"For now, without fear of contradiction, I will be an independent candidate. So those planning things should know that I will not leave to join another party," she affirmed.

Further, Ngirici took a swipe at the DP, condemning the 10 years that was purported to be for Ruto after Uhuru completed his second term.

"Let me tell you, people keep saying; ten for me and ten for you. Such foolishness is what we want to go away from. Come to think of it, my eyes are open and my mind is open and as the white man states that, only a fool doesn't change his mind," she stated.

Ngirici has been at loggerheads with UDA after Waiguru joined the party- a factor that would have seen the two lock horns at the nominations poll.

Ngirici, however, pulled out and declared that she would run as an independent candidate.
