Former President Daniel Moi lived in opulence during his 24-year term as President. During this period, he amassed great wealth establishing himself among the nation's top tier class.

His notable homes include the posh Kabarnet Gardens- where he retreated to after retiring from politics, as well as his Kabarak home.

However, a palatial home in Nairobi once owned by the Late President is now home to a Russian couple.

Speaking on the Art of Living show, business mogul, Elena Kuoni, gave a glimpse into the deluxe mansion that was previously sealed off from the public.

The house is a two-storey building that spots an exquisite design, giving it an elegant look. The living room espouses a diverse feel with its bright cream colour.

The decor is deftly designed with an African touch. From paintings to furniture, the business mogul entailed that they spared no expense in getting the best quality.

Kuoni purchased a number of antiques from the Ivory Coast, Guinea and Dar es Salaam. The couple opted for a minimalist design, as there are two leather sofa sets with little cushioning.

The living room is complimented with an archaic fireplace that glows with a radiant gold flame. Outside, the compound boasts of a well-manicured lawn leading to the swimming pool with three sun loungers beside it.

Kuoni, a dual citizen of Germany and Russia, entailed that she came to Nairobi in 2005 in order to work on projects for the German government.

" We have lived in amazing places in Africa. In Dar es salaam, we lived directly outside the beach while in Conakry, Guinea we lived next to Atlantic ocean.

"When we moved to Nairobi, we lived at a house in Shanzu, then we found this place and bought it," she stated.

After settling on the house, Kuoni and her husband, who is an architect by profession, resorted to renovating the entire mansion in order to suit their preference.

The business mogul is a fashion guru as she is the founder and CEO of KSHMR by Kuoni, a lavish boutique, as well as high end restaurant, Oysters and More, both located at Nairobi's Village Market.

Detailing her journey, she noted that she had to resign from her managerial job in order to venture into entrepreneurship in November 2017.

She poured millions as her starting capital in order to set up her first ever enterprise- noting that there is value in dressing her clients in quality attires.

"Investing in such a business needs huge capital, outlay, and time, with no guarantee of making profits. Just to start, I spent approximately Ksh8 million," she previously told The Standard.

Kuoni currently seeks to expand her businesses to markets in Europe.
