Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, on Wednesday, January 26 responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta who was quoted to have been disappointed with the former Vice President.

Uhuru criticised Mudavadi, his Ford Kenya counterpart, Moses Wetangula and Deputy President, William Ruto for forming an alliance. The President had urged Mudavadi and Wetangula to form a pact with former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, instead.

While addressing a crowd in Baringo County, Mudavadi told Uhuru that he had the right to be disheartened by his declaration which caused a political earthquake.

"I want to tell my friend, President Uhuru, I have seen in the newspapers that he has said he is disappointed with Musalia Mudavadi. You have a right to be disappointed," stated Mudavadi.

"Kenyans are even more disappointed. Kenyans are hungry, jobless, overtaxed and have a huge debt burden. Kenyans are disappointed, let us tell each other the truth. Kenyans are tired," Mudavadi remarked.

The ANC boss wowed the crowd in Baringo, by reverting to his roots. He declared that he was born in Eldama Ravine contrary to the information available online stating that he was born in Sabatia.

Mudavadi also stated that he his step-mother, Rosbella Jerono, was born in the same town in Baringo County.

"Before I say anything, the people of Baringo, let me remind you that I am one of you.I was born here like my mother Rosbella. Albert and Douglas Chemitei, who am sure are in the crowd are my uncles," he stated as the crowd cheered.

The ANC leader has picked an aggressive campaign strategy since joining Ruto's camp. Similar to the DP, Musalia has openly criticised Uhuru's administration and extended the same to Raila, his friend-turned-foe.

In his speech at Bomas of Kenya on January 23, Mudavadi claimed that Raila was the state's project. He underlined that Uhuru and his proxies attempted to woo him to join the Azimio la Umoja movement.

"I am privileged to announce that the spector called Azimio, is not an option when it comes to partnership. We have had enough of this self preservation schemes. We do not want anybody, even at the lowest level, to feel intimidated when making their 2022 choices

To counter the UDA-ANC alliance, Uhuru held a closed-door meeting with leaders from the Western Region at State House, Nairobi, two days later where he consolidated support for Raila.

"They (Mudavadi and Wetangula) are lost. They would have benefited had they stayed with Raila. Kenyans will be in good hands under Raila's leadership instead of those people that they are running to," Uhuru remarked.
