Royal Media Services (RMS) LTD has announced that former Switch TV presenter and Gospel musician, Joyce Omondi, will replace singer Kambua Mathu as the Gospel Sunday show host effective February 6, 2022.

In a communication released Wednesday, January 2, RMS announced that Joyce will take over the show after Kambua announced her exit from the Dennis Pritt Road-based station.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the soft spoken host affirmed that RMS had reached out to her to host the Rauka show on Sundays.

"The show had a host, Kambua, and when she informed the management that she would be transitioning from the show, then that created an opening and then I guess my name came up in the discussion and they reached out," she stated.

Omondi previously worked as Gospel Sunday's host before announcing her exit in July 2013.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she interned at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade for two months before moving to FSD Kenya as a Communications Manager.  She later joined Switch TV in January 2019 - hosting Full Circle.

The show centered on conversations based on motivational, financial as well as relationship topics. Her most popular slot at the show involved her segment with clinical psychologist Benjamin Zulu.

After a two-year stint at the station, Omondi announced her exit in December 2020.

"Without change, there is no innovation, creativity, incentive or improvement. The curtain finally closes today but the show must go on with Mwikali Mary as the new host of Full Circle. We thank you Joyce Omondi for being part of Switch TV," read a statement from Switch TV at the time of Omondi's exit.

Kambua had been part of the Citizen TV fraternity for twelve years, hosting the Rauka show as part of the Gospel Sunday show alongside the likes of Timeless Noel (Noel James Owidhi), Laura Karwirwa, Dj Gee Gee (Daniel Githongo), and the current co-host, Ken the Deejay.
