Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has broken silence after a video made rounds on social media purporting he had a fall out with his Mvita counterpart, Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir.

The Suna East MP shared on social media that he was not having any disagreements with Nassir but rather they have a good working relationship.

Junet maintained that the video was doctored by Azimio La Umoja opponents, whom he accused of seeking to cause discourse among supporters of the coalition backing ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In the post, Mohammed further explained that he had a good working relationship with Nassir and on they had used the same vehicle the day when the video was taken.

The MP acknowledged that the criticism he was receiving on social media was not warranted as he reiterated to their supporters that the video from Raila Odinga's Tononoka rally was inaccurate.

"With my brother Hon. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir. The last few days have seen so much rubbish said about me from a digitally manipulated video.

"In Tononoka, we drove together in the same vehicle to the venue and left together. Hon. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and I are deeply cordial. Ignore desperate rumours. Team Azimio is strong," he stated.

On Tuesday night, February 22, Nassir had also shared a cryptic message telling his supporters that the truth shall be revealed soon.

Nassir who is eyeing the Mombasa gubernatorial seat dismissed the video which caused an uproar on social media, especially among his supporters.

"It's unfortunate and a scary fact that our opponents are so desperate for power to use violence and insinuate that it has party blessings. Leadership is a calling. Leadership is knowing when to act when to react and most importantly when not to react. The truth will be told soon," he stated.

The video circulating on social media purported that the close allies of Raila Odinga were falling apart amid heated succession politics in Mombasa County.

Odinga had a hard time calming youth who support various politicians allied to the ODM party in Mombasa County. Chaos erupted in one area during the Azimio la Umoja tour in the region with senior party leaders from Mombasa stepping in to calm the situation.
