It is nolonger a secret that in the world of the country's 1%, the billionaires always take care of their own by according them the best education life can offer.
The children, who grow up knowing a life of privilege, have attended schools both locally and abroad with school fees per year, at times, running into millions of shillings.
Ranging from Baringo Senator Gideon Moi's children to those of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, here are the five heir apparents and the high schools they attended.
1. James David Kimoi Moi and Kigen Moi
James David Kimoi Moi and Kigen Moi, the sons of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, attended a prestigious High School in London.
The duo was nurtured at the prestigious Harrow School which is a boys boarding secondary school that was founded in 1572.
Harrow offers the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) curriculum and charges its students Ksh2.05 million annual fees (£14,555 per term) with the amount including tuition and boarding fees.
Additionally, new students enrolling in the institution are charged a non-refundable registration fee of Ksh54,088 (£350) and an entry deposit of Ksh463,609 (£3,000).
David is the Director of Kongoy Farm which deals in large-scale potato farming while Kigen is an enthusiast of the horseback ball game, polo.
2. Jimi Wanjigi's Children
For many years, billionaire Jimi Wanjigi's identity had been covered meticulously but the lid on his secrets was blown including that on the lives of his children.
The two attended the luxurious Le Rosey school in Switzerland which is ranked among the oldest in the country.
The school, which is also known as plainly Rosey, was founded in 1880 and boasts advanced facilities for its 420 boarding students.
It has a 1000-seater concert hall and a shooting range and its management ensures that no student body from a particular country accounts for 10 per cent of the student's body.
It was founded by Paul-Émile Carnal.
3. Robert Kirubi
Robert Kirubi is the only son of the late Billionaire Chris Kirubi and was accorded the best education in the country, even though he later declined to take part in the running of family business.
Robert, who is an executive at DHL, was once a student at Hillcrest school and later at St Mary's High School where his schoolmates included current president Uhuru Kenyatta and media personality Jeff Koinange.
St. Mary's School is known for its high-end student body with some of its alumni including Muhoho Kenyatta, Gideon Moi and Lupita Nyong'o among others.
Chris, in a previous interview, revealed that Robert had declined to work for the family business and focused on building his career in Europe where he works for the multinational company.
4. Darshan Chandaria
Darshan Chandaria, the son of Billionaire Mahesh Chandaria, is the most famous heir from the multi-billion empire and true to his wealth, he got his head-start in a reputable High School.
According to his profile, Darshan attended Hillcrest Secondary School which is among the most prestigious schools in Kenya. It was founded by Dorothy Noad in 1965 and grew to international standards in 1972. The High School arm of the institution was established in 1975 and saw 54 students enrolled in the three classes at the time. The institution charges between Ksh850,000 to Ksh1.1 million per term in school fees.
He then proceeded to Cardiff University before joining the prestigious Harvard Business School. He holds an undergraduate Business Management degree from Cardiff University and is a fellow of the 2017 Senior Executive Program from Harvard Business School.
He now works as the Group CEO of Chandaria Industries as well as the Managing Partner and Founder of Chandaria Capital, a venture capital fund that today has over 15 portfolio companies spread across Africa & beyond, which he founded in 2017.
5. Winnie Odinga
In political circles, speculations have been rife that Winnie Odinga is former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's child likely to venture into politics and walk in the footsteps of her dad.
Nicknamed Kazi, Winnie got her headstart at Rusinga School for prep school and proceeded to Brookhouse International School.
"I have a double major degree in International Business and Corporate Communications from Philadelphia, United States," she said in a previous interview.
The posh school was founded in 1981 by the Puxley family as a small British style preparatory school and it was based in Karen.
The school charges Ksh460,000 for the first year including Ksh45,000 as a one-time registration fee.
