Wanjigi had initially affirmed that he would not yield to DCI Kinoti's demands- alleging that he was a pawn in a grand scheme trying to force him to give up his Presidential aspirations.

The politician cum businessman intimated that the plot was a move by the police to violate his rights and freedom.

"The DCI ordered me to surrender non-existent guns and 480 bullets. They have been violating my fundamental rights and freedom. I will neither surrender to this abuse of law enforcement agencies for political purposes," he stated during a presser held last week.

Wanjigi also wondered why the DCI ordered him to surrender firearms that were not in his possession in the first place.

"The High Court granted orders that the firearms be returned to my house but that never happened. Today, he (DCI Kinoti) has the audacity to ask me to return the same firearms."

"In 2017, the same Kinoti took three vehicles from my home in Malindi and for five years, the high-end vehicles have been rotting in police custody. He also tried to issue charges against me and my father," he stated.

The DCI had initially claimed that Wanjigi had taken possession of the firearms secretly- hence sought for the politician to surrender the guns.

Wanjigi's woes come as he cut links with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga after he was locked out of the party's National Delegates Convention (NDC) held on Saturday, February 26.

The politician later issued a statement -alleging that his woes came as a result of his decision to contest against the Former Premier.
