The County Government of Baringo has embarked on a hiring spree and has advertised 625 job vacancies in various sectors.
In a notice carried in the local dailies on Thursday, March 17, the County's secretary announced the vacancies under Agriculture, Transport, Lands and Housing, Health Services, Education, Water and Irrigation, Public Service, Environment, Treasury and Trade.
The Department of Education has the highest number of vacancies at 230 followed by Health Department at 93, Agriculture (85), Public Service (84), Environment (34) and Treasury (25).
Other sectors were Transport (31), Lands and Housing (17), Trade (14) as well as Water and Irrigation (12).
The position of Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) teacher grade two has the highest vacant slots at 120 followed by ECDE teacher grade one at 80 slots. Enforcement officers' slots under Public Service are 60.

Interested candidates for the positions are encouraged to make their applications through the counties official website baringo.go.ke
They are required to present their updated Curriculum Vitae (CV), identification card and a scan of their certificates to an application form on the site. They should all be in PDF format.
Interested candidates are also advised to provide their mobile phone contacts and submit their credentials through the portal before March 30.
Shortlisted candidates, who will be invited for an interview, will be required to show up with their original certificates and identification documents
They would also be required to have a Certificate of Good Conduct, clearance from the Higher Loans Education Board (HELB) as well as those from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) as well as the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Baringo county has in recent month been hit by staff shortages following recurrent bandit attacks that have claimed lives and caused major disruptions.
For instance, students from some of the hard-hit schools in the area were transferred to other institutions to sit their national examinations.
