The award recognizes the exemplary role played by women in various industries. Lulu joins the likes of Tanzanian singer, Lady Jee Dee, who also bagged the prestigious award.

The news anchor also lauded her fans for their immense support over the years.

"Taking this opportunity to thank God for the far He has brought me, but most of all, I want to say I couldn't do this without all of you. Thank you for supporting me," she stated.

Aside from news anchoring, Lulu is the Chief Executive of Jiffy Pictures- a production house that specializes in the production of adverts, series, telenovelas, commercials, and films.

Jiffy pictures have produced mega-hit shows such as Maza, Maria, Zora, Moyo, and currently Sultana, which airs every Monday to Friday at 7.30 pm.

Stars who have emerged from these shows include; Brian Ogana, Yasmin Said, Neema Sulubu, Angela Atieno. Others include Sarah Hassan, Jacky Matubia, Sanaipei Tande and Dorea Chege.

Lulu, alongside her husband, are no strangers to winning awards due to their roles in the film industry- bagging the best producer in the TV Drama Award during the Women in Film Awards 2021 (WIFA) in March 2021.

Yasmin Said (Maria) was crowned the Best Lead Actress in the TV Drama category at the 2020 Kalasha Awards. The series also secured the Best TV Drama at the awards.

Lulu celebrated the achievement noting that the secret to their success is how heavily they invested in their stories.

"If you look at the response on our shows, what stands out is how different we are from other production companies. We heavily invest in our stories," Lulu Hassan recently told Kenyans.co.ke.
