New details have emerged regarding events preceding the car crash that killed a father, his son and a Form Two student in Njoro, Nakuru County.

The three were among the casualties in the crash that killed four people on Friday, March 25.

Speaking to the press on Saturday, March 27, the mother, Elizabeth Wangari, revealed that the trio, including her son, Francis Mwangi, who sat the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), were coming back from an initiation ceremony.

Wangari had not spoken to her son for the two weeks that he had been recuperating from the exercise.

"The last time I talked to my son was moments before his circumcision. I never talked to him while he was there.

"I had a lot of hopes in the child that he would pass his exams and be admitted at a secondary school. He had plans to join Alliance High School and later on become an Engineer," stated Wangari.

The mother further recalled that his son was one of the best performers in primary school. Her relatives who comforted her also eulogised the deceased.

"We were looking up to the child, educate him since he was our future but we still praise the Lord," added Margaret Njeri, a relative.

Another form 2 student, Benedict Wambugu, who perished in the crash had tagged along to take care of Mwangi after he underwent the initiation exercise.

"He was very respectful, hardworking and goodhearted. I cannot even speak on it (incident)," Wambugu's mother, Helena Wangari added.

Two other individuals who incurred crucial injuries were rushed to Nakuru Level 5 Hospital where they are recupperating.
