Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga has broken his silence on the ongoing wrangle between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Uhuru was reported to have accused Ruto of allegedly planning to impeach him. Ruto, however, watered down the reports and claimed that Raila was the face behind the alleged impeachment plot.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, March 29,  Odinga denied being aware of any impeachment plans against his handshake partner.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM ) party leader further distanced himself from the tussle.

"I am not aware of any claims, so I have nothing to say. What do you want me to say? I do not want to get involved," the former Prime Minister declared.

When hard-pressed to answer to claims by DP Ruto that he may have been involved in a orchestrating the aborted plan, Raila brushed off the journalist reiterating his stance.

Odinga's response comes just days after the Head of State, during a meeting with leaders from the Mount Kenya region at the State House Nairobi reportedly shed light on his sour relationship with Ruto.

Uhuru allegedly accused the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate of planning to sabotage his legacy. The pronouncement attracted a response from Ruto, who denied the allegations.

While speaking during a rally in Malindi, Kilifi County on March 27. Ruto defended himself, adding that he would never turn his back on the president or the government.

He castigated Uhuru for disrespecting him and pointed a finger at the former Prime Minister, whom he averred was synonymous with toppling governments.

Ruto further asked Uhuru to refrain from using propaganda to sabotage his presidential bid.

"I will never, I have never an and it has never happened that I will be part of anything that will go against the government of Kenya and those who are spreading those lies, shame on you!"

"Please my friends, have some respect. Even if you do not want to support my candidature, stop the unfounded claims, stop dividing Kenyans. You want to split the country for nothing just because Kenyans have refused your project?" he remarked.
