You have probably heard of three characters in the Bible: Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego who are known for their resilience, hard work and faith in God.

When a set of triplet brothers was born in Kajiado County, their parents deemed it fit to name them after the biblical trio in hope that they would fill in their shoes.

In their first hurdle, the trio excelled in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) scoring more than 400 marks each. They got 412, 408 and 401 marks.

"I feel so good and my parents were elated as well as teachers and the society," Meshack Solonko, a third of the trio, told Citizen TV.

"I am very happy because we made our parents proud," added Shadrack Solonka.

Their father, Solonka Ole Murua, told the press that the three had always displayed exemplary performance through their schooling and that they were expected to ace their national exams as well.

He explained that during the ordinary exams, the triplets often scored nearly the same points and were only broken up by a maximum of one student.

"This is normal for them that when they do an exam, only one student comes among them. When they sat for the exams, we did not expect them to get the marks they achieved but were confident they would pass," stated Ole Murua.

The three, who have exemplified their teamwork, are now appealing to Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha to intervene and have them admitted to same high school when form one selection in done.

Their journey to the top has not been easy for the three who noted that they were provided a place of residence by Iltilal Primary School headteacher.

They all want to join Nakuru Boys High School.
