Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday, March 30, declared that he is open to working with Wiper Democratic Movement Party Leader, Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking during a rally in Mwingi town, the DP went on a charm offensive, courting Kalonzo to ditch the Azimio la Umoja and join the hustler bandwagon.
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential aspirant argued that the Wiper counterpart had much more in common and their partnership would work better as compared to that with the former Prime Minister.
"Tell Kalonzo to look for me, the hustler, so that we can work together and not with the man of parables. At least him and I have something in common - we believe in God," the DP remarked.
While making reference to the endorsement of Raila Odinga as the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Ruto opined that the One Kenya Alliance principal was hoodwinked into signing the deal.
"The other day, they went ahead and confused him until his party appended the signature to documents, only for him to come out and say he was not aware of what he signed. Do you see the kind of tribulations he is going through?" Ruto posed.
The DP's remarks were reiterated by Tharaka-Nithi Senator, Kithure Kindiki who appointed himself as the man who would initiate negotiations between the two leaders.
Kenya's second-in-command and his allies also gave their stance on the the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) whose ruling is set to be delivered by the Supreme Court on March 31.
Kindiki opined that the ruling would be inconsequential to Ruto's presidential bid, claiming that the former succeeding outgoing President, Uhuru Kenyatta was already cast on stone.
"It does not matter what the court says. The people of Kenya have already decided that the fifth president of Kenya is William Samoei Ruto," the Tharaka-Nithi Senator declared.
On his part, Ruto maintained his stand that constitutional reforms were not necessary and that rebuilding the economy should be the country's priority.
