Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany and his Kapseret counterpart, Oscar Sudi, were on Sunday, April 3, grilled by Detectives from the Nakuru DCI offices over an attack on Azimio-One Kenya presidential flag-bearer Raila Odinga.

The DCI confiscated mobile phones belonging to the two politicians alongside Uasin Gishu County Speaker David Kiplagat in order to carry out a forensic audit.

Speaking to the media after the interrogations, Kositany exuded confidence that the matter would be resolved and that justice would prevail.

“They have taken our mobile phones over what they said is to help them in further investigations. We were here to shed more light on the Friday attack and we have explained ourselves before the detectives,” he stated.

After being released by the DCI, they absolved themselves from the incident in which Odinga's chopper was pelted with stones on Friday, April 1, pointing out that the matter was politically instigated.

The two lawmakers called upon the police to independently probe the matter, noting that they were willing to cooperate in order to ensure the investigations are complete.

Earlier on Sunday, April 3, the leaders had denied organising the chaos. Addressing the media, they affirmed that they were ready to honour police summons in order to prove their innocence.

"We are ready to bear the brunt. We are there for justice. We are always preaching peace. We are heading to Nakuru to go and listen to this nonsense. It is pure nonsense. Whatever they want to do, we are ready for it."

"As politicians, we should desist from hiring goons to heckle others even at funerals. It is not African. They have questioned the youths and those who ferried youth are known but they have targeted those associated with Deputy President William Ruto," Kositany stated.

On Sunday, President Uhuru Kenyatta condemned the stoning of Odinga's chopper in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Speaking during a service at AIC Church in Pipeline, Nairobi County, Kenyatta stated that it was unnecessary, especially as the country draws close to the August polls.

The Head of State called for peace and tolerance, reminding Kenyans that elections was not a matter of life and death.

"Elections come and go. Sometimes people behave like elections is a matter of life and death, we have had it every five years since independence from the colonizers and even this one will come and we shall have another in five years."

On stoning Odinga, the President warned that it was a dangerous path for the country.

“There is no need for violence. Why are you stoning a helicopter carrying Baba? How will that help you? If anything catastrophic occurred as a result of that, wouldn’t the country be on fire? Is that what we want?" Kenyatta posed.
