National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has cast his doubts on the dossier linking Deputy President William Ruto to land grabbing.

Muturi has disclosed that the document presented to Parliament by Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi had its own flaws and was highly likely, not admissible.

In an interview with NTV on Sunday, April 17,the Speaker took an issue with a statement she had included in the document, which read, 'In whose hand are you safe?'

"She came with a typed document, the first one she tabled. It is just that I did not want to disparage her. The typed document ended with 'In whose hand are you safe?'

"Is that evidence that the person she is talking about has grabbed land?" Questioned the National Assembly speaker.

Muturi further described the Thursday, April 14, Parliamentary proceeding as a waste of public time arguing that there were other matters of public importance lined up for prosecution that had to be shelved to pave way for Gedi's submissions.

"That day, there was a serious bill but it is unfortunate that we are likely to end Parliament without passing it because it has to go to Senate. The Children's Bill. It has taken 20 years to come up with that bill.

"Members choose to do politics. Surely in the midst of fuel shortage and the rising cost of living. It was a total waste of public time for members to engage in those kinds of theatrics. It was not adding any value at all," he added.

He further claimed that Gedi had been sponsored after he (Muturi) joined Kenya Kwanza despite calls from soe quarters for him to join Azimio.

Gedi had presented a suitcase full of evidence she claimed implicated Deputy President William Ruto in land grabbing cases.

The lawmaker, at the time, stated that she was ready to table the evidence before the floor of the House for debate.

The Wajir Woman MP further noted that she delivered the documents in compliance with the directive given to her by Speaker Justin Muturi on Tuesday when she alleged that Ruto was culpable of land grabbing.

She had claimed that the DP was found guilty of grabbing a 100-acre parcel of land belonging to one Adrian Muteshi.

"This bag has the evidence that I am going to present that William Ruto grabbed that land so Kenyans know that they are not safe in his hands," she stated.
