According to reports, evaluation of the damages by insurance companies has already commenced.

Confirming the incident, Naivasha sub-county Deputy Commissioner Mutua Kisilu told the Standard that the collapse was caused by strong winds during the downpour.

It is still not clear whether the management of the resort will pay the car owners for the damages since our calls were met with silence.

According to experts, parking cars under a tree can have damaging effects, including secretions by insects, fluids from leaves, fruits and the risk trees falling on the vehicle, mostly due to strong winds.

Leaves can leave the car's air conditioning damaged leading to problems with the cooling and heating of the air conditioner.

Falling fruits can also damage the windscreen while insect fluids, when left on the surface for a long time, can also lead to discoloration of some parts.

In 2018, several cars were also damaged after a huge tree fell on them at the Serena Hotel parking lot in an incident caused by the then heavy rainfall.
