KCSE 2021: KUCCPS Starts University Placements

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the window for 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to apply for placement or revise the choices of their courses.

KUCCPS stated that all applications and revisions must be made online with the candidates being advised to strictly follow the June 2 application deadline.

Upon submission of their applications, KUCCPS will review them and place them in the universities or colleges of choice, observing regional balance, performance and availability of space in the selected institutions.

On Friday, May 20, Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha, ordered KUCCPS to open its portal to allow students ample time to submit their applications, stating those who got a mean grade of C+ and above will be placed in universities.

“All the 144,466 Kenyans with C+ and above who sat the 2021 KCSE examination are eligible to apply for degree programmes in the 70 universities,” the Education CS stated.

CS Magoha notified the 2021 KCSE candidates who obtained a mean grade of C (plain) and below to also consider applying for courses in TVET institutions and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCS). 

How to Apply

1) All applications must be done online through the student's portal accessible through the KUCCPS website.

2) Log in using your credentials i.e. KCSE index number, KCSE year and password. (For your initial password, use your birth certificate number or KCSE index number).

3) Once you have logged in, select four courses that you would like to pursue and the government institution you wish to join.

4) List them in order of priority, the first being the most preferable course and institution and the fourth being the least.

5) Once done click submit.

The application should be done online through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal, students.kuccps.net, which is accessible through the Placement Service website www.kuccps.ac.ke. 

Applications can also be submitted online from any location through any gadget connected to the Internet (computers, mobile phones, tablets etc).
