Days after Malindi Member of Parliament, Aisha Jumwa, made remarks opposing the appointment of Kilifi governor, Amason Jeffa Kingi, as one of the Kenya Kwanza coordinators in the county, her supporters have come out to issue fresh demands.
They now want Deputy President, William Ruto, who is the leader of Kenya Kwanza to make public the agreement he signed with Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) who recently joined Kenya Kwanza.
The supporters noted there was a lot of misinformation being spread by Kingi-led party and that such information was demoralising them on the ground.
Over 1000 women who attended the meeting convened by Jumwa, noted once the agreement is made public, they will know how to move on smoothly with their campaigns.
The Vocal MP said Kingi was living in a rental room (Kenya Kwanza) and had no say as UDA was the mother party in the coalition.
“There is no day in Kenya a tenant can own a title deed of the place he rented, those are just kicks of a dying horse, we are in UDA, Coast is UDA, Kilifi is UDA and the whole country is UDA,” Jumwa stated.
Another UDA coordinator, Moses Matano, noted that the agreement was sealed without the presence of supporters thus leaving them in the dark.
“It’s sad that a small party like PAA that is not popular joined Kenya Kwanza and then begun spreading propaganda,” he stated.
Matano asked UDA to come clean on the issue as they do not want PAA to take the lead since they messed up for the last 10 years.
“Ruto should tell us as Kilifians and coast in general where our space is in the coalition agreement, we do not want the party which is full of corrupt people and hooligans to be in control,” Matano remarked.
Sentiments by Jumwa supporters came after Kingi's team hit out at her. Speaking during a press conference in Market Village in Malindi town, the supporters led by Patience Kipusa asked Jumwa to refrain from discrediting the governor, adding that the latter was the one who was synonymous with graft.
“Governor Kingi has not done anything wrong to go to Kenya Kwanza, he has a vision for the people and that is why he moved from Azimio to Kenya Kwanza,” stated Kipusa.
