Uhuru Gets Global Award Alongside CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been awarded alongside seven other Kenyans at the recently concluded gala in Accra, Ghana.

The Head of State was honoured with a Reformative Leadership Award at the third edition of the Africa Public Sector Conference & Awards (APSCA) ceremony held on Friday, May 13.

The organisers of the event revealed that the Kenyan President was awarded for his steadfastness in offering transformational leadership over the past year.

Besides leading the Kenya republic, he serves as the chairperson of the East African Community Summit as well as the head of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA).

The alliance is a coalition of African heads of state and government advancing advocacy efforts, resource mobilisation and accountability in the fight against malaria across Africa.

Under his watch, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared that the world's first malaria vaccine was ready in October 2021. 

Kenya was announced as one of the three African countries recommended for using the revolutionary vaccine.

Other awardees of the price included Kenya Power Company Acting Managing Director Rosemary Oduor who was given the Outstanding Woman in Power award.

Central Bank of Kenya Governor Patrick Njoroge and Kenya Airways General Managing Director Allan Kilavuka were also named among Africa's Top 50 Public Sector Leaders.

The National Environment Management Authority Director General Mamo Mamo was also named as the best leader on the continent in the environmental category.

In 2014, Uhuru was also named the President of the year for his leadership after he built consensus both in Kenya and abroad.

The Africa Education and Leadership Awards hailed for introducing progressive economic programs.
