Stella Memusi, the wife of Kajiado Central Member of Parliament, Elijah Memusi, has died in a road accident along Athi River - Namanga Road.

According to Kajiado County Commander, Muthuri Mwongera, the Legislator's wife passed away on Tuesday, May 31, while being rushed to hospital.

The Kajiado County police boss stated that Stella died on the spot after the vehicle she was travelling in rammed into a lorry. The driver of the vehicle, however, escaped the incident with numerous injuries and was rushed to hospital.

After the news was made public, politicians and Kenyans online sent their messages of condolences to Memusi and his family.

Kajiado governor, Joseph Ole Lenku, described Stella Memusi as a cheerful lady with outstanding character.

"The news of the demise of Kajiado Central MP Hon Memusi Kanchory's wife, Stella, is devastating. It is sad that we had to lose such a bubbly lady through a tragic road accident just a few kilometres from her home last night."

"I stand with my brother, Hon Memusi, during this trying moment as he comes to terms with the loss of his beloved wife and mother of his children."

"On behalf of myself, my family and the county government of Kajiado, I pray for the Lord's strength to overcome this monumental grief. We shall stand with the family and may they have peace in their hearts," stated Ole Lenku.

The tragedy comes after Rabai MP, William Kamoti, also passed away in a tragic road accident two days ago. The MP passed away minutes after presenting his nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Sunday night, May 29.

Police privy to the matter intimated to the media that Kamoti's vehicle rolled into a ditch after ramming into an oncoming truck.

Further, Karima MCA Reuben Wahome Kabera also passed away while undergoing treatment at Mt Kenya hospital on the same day.
