DP Ruto's Office Auctioning Vehicles, Office Equipment: How to Bid

The Office of Deputy President has announced a mass auction of government vehicles and assorted office equipment. 

In a notice released on Tuesday, June 7, the DP's office listed seven government vehicles of different models as ripe for auction. 

Interested bidders must pay a refundable deposit of between Ksh13,000 - Ksh40,000 depending on the model. For instance, a Toyota Prado will require a deposit of Ksh40,000, while a Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest have a Ksh34,000 and Ksh30,000 deposit respectively.

Those interested in Nissan Urvan will pay a deposit of Ksh13,000, a double cabin will cost Ksh20,000 in deposit while interested bidders seeking to purchase a Mitsubishi Pajero will be required to part with a Ksh20,000 deposit. 

The final vehicle listed on the notice is a Ford Everest whose deposit has been set at Ksh21,500

The office equipment listed include assorted tires, office chairs, computers, photocopiers, telephone heads and accessories, assorted kitchen appliances, assorted farm equipment and other scrap metals, and sofa sets. 

Others include electronic power stabilizers, assorted plumbing materials, power interchange switches and TVs. For the office equipment, interested bidders will pay a non-refundable deposit of Ksh1,000. 

"Prices quoted should be net, must be in Kenya shillings and shall remain valid for the period to be determined by the procuring entity from the closing date of the tender," reads part of the notice. 

How to Bid

Qualified and interested bidders may obtain further information and inspect the items for disposal during office hours from 8.00am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday except during lunch hours, weekends and public holidays. 

The tender documents can be retrieved at the procurement office on first-floor wing B Room 11, Harambe House Annex, Nairobi.  

The document costs Ksh1,000 payable to the Secretary Administration, Office of the Deputy President, in form of a bankers cheque or through cash at the cash office at Harambee House Annex, first floor during office hours. 

All the items will be disposed off on an as is where is basis. 

Duly completed documents must be deposited at the DP's office in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the reference number. 

Interested bidders ought to submit the documents on or before June 21, 2022, at 10.00am. 

Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline date and time specified above or any deadline date and time specified later.

The applications will be publicly opened in the presence of all bidders' designated representatives who choose to attend. Late applications will be rejected.
