Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has now revealed his strong ties with Raila Odinga's family while endorsing his candidature.

Speaking in Kisumu's Jua Kali area on Monday, June 27, Prof Wajackoyah detailed that he has devised a strategy that would see either him or Raila win the Presidency come August 9.

While wooing the lakeside region, perceived to Azimio la Umoja's presidential candidate's stronghold, the legal scholar explained that an elaborate win for either of them will be beneficial to the people from the Western region and the entire nation.

He told the residents that Raila is the one who sent him to make a way for him before his grand tour in the region.

"I want to tell you that Raila has sent me to come ahead of him to be strategic so that he will then come and takeover," Wajackoyah stated.

Wajackoyah noted that his ties with Raila are deep as they both hail from the vote-rich Western region and they are thus considered as siblings. Speaking in Dholuo, he disclosed that he was the chief food taster for Kenya’s first Vice President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and wouldn’t mind teaming up with the son.

"I am made to understand Baba came from Wanga (Kakamega), so we still have his bedroom in Mumias. I am a neighbour here and as you know, I am in the race with Baba. A victory for either of us will be a win for the Western region," Wajackoyah added.

To further cement and assure Kisumu residents of his links with Raila, Wajackoyah endorsed ODM candidates Paul Ongili famously known as Babu Owino for Embakasi East MP and Felix Odiwour alias Jalang'o for Lang'ata parliamentary seat.

"I want to tell those in Nairobi - Embakasi to say hey to Babu Owino and Jalango. They must be greeted," Wajackoyah stated.

The Roots Party Presidential candidate who was accompanied by his running mate Justina Wamae further advised Raila to allow other candidates to vie in various elective positions instead of only fronting his family members.

"Baba should allow other people in elective positions; he should not be selfish. He cannot have his family members contesting as Members of the National Assembly, senators, Woman Reps, and other positions. I told my brothers not to contest for any other seats," he explained.

His presidency has been gaining popularity across the country due to his unique manifesto that tends to appeal especially to the youth. He has been capitalising on his marijuana agenda to woo the youths across the country. The latest opinion poll by TIFA gave Wajackoyah seven per cent popularity.

Other than the bhang agenda, Wajackoyah also told Kisumu residents that he now intends to export dog meat to help settle the country's debt if elected the next president in the August 9 polls.

The academician maintained his stand on hanging political leaders found guilty in corruption cases.

"We will build a new Kenya with those who are clean. All corrupt individuals are gifted with positions, I will hang them," he insisted.
