Joe Nyokabi, the Tiktok comedian behind the popular Martha Karua impression Asimio Haroo!, has landed a new deal days after he met the Azimio la Umoja presidential running mate.
Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday, June 28, Pancras Karema, the co-founder and Chief Executive Officers of Expedition Masai Safaris noted that the company had entered into a season-long contract with the comedian.
He noted that Nyokabi is a talented young Kenyan who has managed to capture the attention of Kenyans as the campaign season hits a fever pitch.
"We have given him a contract. We thrive in research and marketing through trends. When this guy came up and we saw that whatever he was doing was sensational, we offered him a deal and now we are working with him.
"We have just started the partnership which will last this season that is roughly three months," stated Karema.
When pressed about the value of the deal, Karema remained tight-lipped explaining that it is in the best interest of the comedian to keep the contract's nitty gritties out of the public glare.
What is public, however, is that Nyokabi has been tasked with coming up with clever skits aimed at promoting packages offered by the company.
Karema noted that several projects are already in the works and are set to be released in due course.
"You know that now we are in the season of politics. He has been able to capture many Kenyans because of what he does. He is becoming hilarious but he is also driving a point home.
"We are also to get his message when compared to the season we are in is relevant," he added.
The company prides itself in offering Safari drive with its most popular package involving a three-day (two nights) upcoming trip to Masai Mara valued at Ksh13,500 per adult head.
In his first promotional video, Nyokabi assumed his character, of impersonating Karua, by jumping into the frame with his slogan, 'Haroo, Wakenya tuko pamoja? (Kenyans, are we together?)' to promote the company's new service allowing holidaymakers to pay for their trip in installments dubbed 'Commit Kidogo Kidogo'.
The comedian first burst into the limelight after he met Martha Karua who even took the time to recreate the now-viral video.
