Roots Party presidential candidate, George Luchiri Wajackoyah, released his 10-point agenda for the country with a key focus on the legalisation of marijuana, popularly known as bhang.

Speaking at KICC on Thursday, June 30, Wajackoyah detailed how he plans to clear the country's debt using marijuana even as he emphasised that his calls for its legalisation was of economic benefit to the country.

For instance, the professor of law stated that the cultivation of marijuana in Nyeri county alone would raise money to build two expressways in each of the 47 counties.

"One acre of marijuana can earn you Ksh8 million per harvest. The whole of Nyeri county is 583,000 acres. This means that if we grew marijuana in Nyeri county, Nyeri residents will earn Ksh4.6 trillion per harvest.

"If we can grow marijuana in Nyeri alone, each Kenyan could get a dividend cheque of Ksh200,000 every year from the sale of marijuana," Wajackoyah stated.

Additionally, he stated that his administration will focus on snake and dog rearing targeting the expansive Chinese market with the aim of clearing the debt Kenya owes the South Asian nation.

On the other hand, he emphasised on zero tolerance to corruption promising that his administration would return the capital punishment for those found guilty for misappropriating public funds.

Under the devolution agenda, the Roots Party leader stated that he planned on creating eight states after suspending the Constitution and moving the capital city to Isiolo.

"We will introduce 8 regional states. Each will have a federal government that will give every community power to make their own decisions.

"Isiolo is the center of Kenya. Making Isiolo Kenya’s administrative center is the same as making Canberra Australia’s capital.  We will move the capital city from Nairobi to Isiolo."

Additionally, he insisted that his administration will work towards freeing the country from its dependence on foreign governments promising that he will deport all idle foreigners with the aim of ending neo-colonialism.

He stated that he will also shut down the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) which was built by the Chinese.

"We will shut down symbols of Chinese colonization. All Chinese statues along the route will be brought down. We will build our own railway systems with our own money."
