Kapseret Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi, has accused ICT Cabinet Secretary, Joe Mucheru, of hiring hackers to rig the August 9 polls against Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking on Thursday, July 14, Sudi alleged that Mucheru had assembled a team of hackers with the intention of infiltrating the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) systems and manipulate the transmission of results.

The outspoken ally of the Deputy President further claimed that there were separate data centres that had been set up for the execution of the alleged hacking plan.

"The plan involves sabotage of the internet exchange on election day and the use of various data centres with intentions to manipulate election results," the MP claimed.

While failing to mention where the data centres were located, Sudi claimed that they were under tight security, further alleging that how the results manipulation would be done.

"The results manipulation will be done by introducing algorithms to achieve the already pre-set tally that gives their project, Raila Odinga, victory," he alleged.

The lawmaker opined that the recent popularity polls placing the Azimio flagbearer at pole position were aimed at creating a perception that he would emerge winners and hoodwink Kenyans to accepting the doctored results.

Sudi further alleged that Ruto's opponents had also manipulated the supreme Court so as to get a favourable ruling in the event that the results are disputed.

"They are bragging that even if the matter goes to the Supreme Court, they have already struck a deal with the Judges for a favourable ruling," Sudi alleged.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.keCS Mucheru stated that he had no time to respond to Sudi's allegations, further explaining that what the IEBC was doing was within its discretion as it is an independent Commission.

He added that the systems IEBC had installed had their own safeguards.

"That story is so far-fetched and does not deserve the reply. First of all, why would it be going to the internet exchange? IEBC is not connected to our internet as it has its own VPN.

"The networks being used are the mobile networks listed. So how does someone interfere with their own network?" Mucheru wondered.
