The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has announced paid internship positions for the financial year 2022- 2023.
According to a statement dated July 16, the industrial placement programme will run from September to November.
During the three months, interns will earn a monthly stipend of Ksh15,000.
The Programme is geared towards providing journalism students with practical work experience before graduation and preparing them for the job market.
The beneficiaries of the internship programme will be placed in recognised media organisations across the country under the following areas of specialisation: Editorial, Radio, Television, Digital and Corporate Communications.
"Students pursuing degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Digital Media, or Public Relations who meet the above requirements are eligible to apply," the MCK statement read in part.
Requirements
The three months programme will target final year students from recognised universities or middle-level colleges.
They will be required to send a letter of application and a recommendation letter from their institutions of higher learning.
Applicants will also be expected to submit their academic transcripts, MCK Student's card, and valid registration numbers from their universities or colleges.
In the application process, they will further be expected to submit evidence of their published work or broadcast content.

Interested students will be required to submit all requirements through MCK online portal.
The online portal will allow students to present all the documents for MCK's verification.
The deadline for applications is Friday, August 12.
