On the morning of Tuesday, August 9, Dennis Ombogo, had hoped to wake up early, cast his vote and proceed to his job as a mechanic by 7:00am fuss free.

Instead, Ombogo, who is now nationally known as the 'sina maoni' guy, found himself trending for simply lacking an opinion during a live broadcast on Citizen TV.

In an exclusive interview with Kenyans.co.ke, the father of one revealed that many people contacted him in the aftermath of the elections but maintained that his 'personal life has not been affected in any way'.

Born in Kisii County, Ombogo dropped out of school after sitting for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCSE) due to lack of school fees and joined the casual jobs industry soon after.

"I did not attend high school. I joined jua kali early. I did not join because we lacked the money. I am the fifth born in a family of 8. Only one sibling got to Form Four and he is set to sit his exams this year.

"I started out in mjengo (construction work) in 2010 in Kisii. I have also worked as a handy man at a homestead. I loved mechanic and I found someone who brought me to Eldoret where I started this job," he stated.

He was employed as a mechanic at the Eldoret shop in 2014 and was accorded a light training by the shop's owner before being absorbed as a full time employee.

In his day job, he makes an average wage of Ksh2,000 but is hopeful to land a better job - most likely offered by the president-elect or his area Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi, of Kapseret constituency.

"I work at a mechanic shop in Eldoret and I have a very good relationship with my boss. I work daily and make average of Ksh2,000 but it fluctuates.

"I would like the president-elect to give me a job. I can't choose a job I want but will do whatever I find. I can even do casual job," Ombogo answered when asked whether he had a message for the incoming Head of State.

On Saturday, tours and travel company, Bonfire Adventures, offered the newly-minted internet meme a three-day holiday to an undisclosed location.

Ombogo noted that the travel and tours company had already approached him but remained mum on the nitty gritties of their arrangements.

"I have been contacted by Bonfire who texted me saying that they need me. We have not discussed further details," he added.

Regarding formal education, Ombogo noted that he is hopeful to save enough funds to re-enroll in a polytechnic to advance his education.

"I am ready to go to polytechnic at least to get a certificate. I can't go back to which school but I can attend a polytechnic," he concluded.

Ombogo is considered the most viral meme in 2022 General Election, following 'Githeri Man', formally  footsteps who received Head of State Commendation from President Uhuru Kenyatta after an image of him eating githeri went viral in 2017 General Election.
