Kenyan Rider Starts 12,000-Km Journey From Sweden to Nairobi on Motorbike

A Kenyan rider Ali Said has embarked on a journey of his lifetime travelling from the European country to Nairobi, Kenya on his motorbike.

In a statement published on Saturday, August 20, the self-styled adventurer noted that he will pass through Germany's city of Berlin.

To connect to the African continent from Europe, he will board a ship across the Mediterranean Sea to Egypt from where he will travel by road and access Kenya through the Northern border.

The trip, which will last a month, will see him traverse 17 countries on his newly-acquired KTM 1290 adventure R 2022.

"Follow me as I do a solo ride of a lifetime, 12,000kms for 1 month, across 17 countries on my new baby, KTM 1290 adventure R 2022, from Sweden through the small towns and big cities of Europe up to Greece, put the bike on a ship, fly to the land of pharaohs Egypt and ride down via the desert through Sudan, Ethiopian highlands and into my lovely country Kenya via the northern frontier.

According to his digital footprint, the journey kicked off on Saturday, August 15 after he acquired the necessary number plates that will aid him cross state borders.

From Sweden to Germany, Said noted that he will use a ferry connecting the port towns of Ystad and  Sassnitz.

According to the motorbike's manufacturer, the KTM 1290 adventure R 2022 is engineered to cross the wildest, most challenging terrain.

The motorcycle uses a V-twin LC8 engine ranked among the most compact, lightest and best performance motorbike engines.

To maintain comfort through the harsh terrain, the automobile a wide and adjustable handle bar and is fixed with foam padding on the seats that allow seamless rider movement on tough terrain.

The bike also sports a USB phone pocket that keeps the gadget safe while on the road and has an illuminated menu switch.
