Roots Party presidential running mate, Justina Wamae, has accused her party leader, George Luchiri Wajackoyah, of being petty after he summoned her for a disciplinary hearing.
In a statement dated Monday, August 22, Wamae defended her self from any wrongdoing in airing out her opinions, poking holes in the accusations in the summonses - that she was speaking on behalf of the party.
"I will not respond to pettiness!" the vibrant politician exclaimed.
In a gloves off attack, the two traded accusations, washing the party's dirty linen in public. Wamae accused her boss of feeding the public with lies about perks she earned for being his running mate.
In her parting shot, she reckoned that she would not be glued to any political party and was ready to move on if need arises. Wamae beckoned Wajackoyah to do as he pleased.
"But on the non-existent accommodation and car you imagined you assisted me with, you can withdraw in your dreams. It is your party, do what you deem fit, I will soldier on," Wamae reiterated.
On August 22, the Roots Party, through its Legal Director Washika Wachira, served its running mate a demand letter over her comments, which went against the party's conduct.
Wachira accused the 35-year creating a wrong depiction of the party's political stand by associating with political rivals, citing her congratulatory message to president-elect William Ruto and DP- elect Rigathi Gachagua.
"You have associated yourself with our opponents and advocated for their ideologies. Due to your misrepresentation of the party's stand, it has differed public ridicule and disrepute," the lawyer stated.
Roots Party directed that Wamae desist from speaking or purporting to speak on behalf of the party lest face legal action.
"Failure to stop the misrepresentation and irresponsible utterances, we have instructions to institute a legal action against you without further notice to you, to your peril as to cost and consequences," the demand letter read in part.
The outspoken politicians was set to face the disciplinary committee on Friday, August 26 at 2.30pm.
