Roots Party presidential running mate, Justina Wamae, now claims that her party boss,  George Luchiri Wajackoyah, blocked her after a bitter fallout.

Speaking to KTN News on Tuesday, August 23, Wamae stated that her party boss blatantly blocked her making it difficult for her to navigate their campaign diary in the run up to the August 9 elections.

She stated the last time they met was at the National Tallying Centre located at the Bomas of Kenya when the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced the presidential election winner.

"Last time I met him was on August 3, that is when we met in person. Another time was at Bomas when we met and we don't speak on phone because he blocked me," Wamae stated.

She also recounted the difficulty she encountered while crisscrossing the country to campaign for their presidency. At the tail end of campaign, she was accused of not campaigning with the outspoken politician, noting that she had difficulties with campaign logistics.

This even as she claimed that their campaign team found it difficult to change their plan because Wajackoyah was the one who called the shots.

"I could not fund my car fueling towards the tail end of the campaign. I felt that we should go out as a team but only one person was in charge of campaign. I also had difficulties accessing the party leader."

According to Wamae, the duo lost the inroads they had made after they were branded a state project.

"People lost trust in us, we got few votes because they started calling us projects," Wamae added.

Wamae spoke hours after she appeared on another interview where she stated that she would not mind working with president-elect, William Samoei Ruto.

She noted that she would serve diligently as a minister in the Kenya Kwanza government, if given a chance.

Wamae noted that Ruto's Kenya Kwanza manifesto resonated with the common mwananchi and hence provided an opportunity to uplift every Kenyan.

"If you look at the ages of all presidential candidates, Ruto resonates with the younger generation. In terms of manifestos, ours (Roots Party's) was similar to theirs. In the case of empowering the agricultural sector, Kenya Kwanza's manifesto was about the economic empowerment of the mwananchi. So, Kenyans appreciate a competent and brilliant mind hence I would serve diligently," she stated.
