President Uhuru Kenyatta and his party members may be counting days as the tenants of the Jubilee Party headquarters located in Nairobi's Pangani area after it was put up for auction.
In an advert carried in local dailies on Monday, August 29, Garam Investments Auctioneers announced that they had put up the seven-storey behemoth located along Thika Road on auction.
The building has two basement floors, a penthouse on the rooftop, a sentry house and a power house.
In the notice, the auctioneers announced that the bidding process was slated for September 11 at a location in Westlands.
Interested individuals were invited to place their bids after paying a deposit of Ksh5 million before accessing the bidding venue.
"All that parcel of land known as LR no 209/1530 Emani Business Centre along Thika Road, Pangani area registered under Farmer Industry Limited, with a plinth area of 34,000 square feet.
"Bidders will be required to produce a bidding deposit of Ksh5 million by way of cash or bankers cheque before being allowed to bid," read the statement in part.
The building was first acquired by Jubilee Party, then headed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, in the run-up to 2013 General Election.
The party used the building as its national tally for both the 2013 and 2017 elections before a fallout emerged between the two leaders in 2018.
On the basement floors, the building boasts parking bays, water pumps store, concrete water tank, and lift/staircase lobby.
On the ground floor, the building has an entrance lobby, main reception, lift staircase lobby as well as spaces for offices, cafeteria with kitchen and kitchenette.
All the other six floors have office spaces as well as conference rooms.
