Felix Orinda, famously known as DJ Evolve, is on his path to recovery, if his father, John Orinda's words are anything to go by.
According to Orinda, his son is now receiving physiotherapy after undergoing three successful surgeries since the tragic shooting incident at an upmarket nightclub in Nairobi.
Speaking to Nation, Evolve's father disclosed that his son can now eat solid food, unlike a year ago when he used feeding tubes.
He also made public that the DJ was learning to sit despite his legs still feeling weak.
Orinda added that he has stepped up care for his son since his mother, Mary Hongo, passed on in September 2021.
"Right now, he is being taught how to sit but continues to be assisted in feeding. It is good that he can now eat solid foods," he told Nation.
"He is doing well but is still living an assisted life. He is also starting to feel his legs, but he cannot walk yet," he added.
Besides his healing journey, he also revealed that DJ Evolve has started buying new deejaying machines in preparation for his comeback in the entertainment industry.
According to his social media platforms, he is actively involved in promoting events and other functions in entertainment joints.
"I advised Evolve to forget about her mother in the meantime and focus on recovering and prepare for his life ahead," he explained.
Embakasi East MP-elect Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino is still offering financial support to the family, according to his father's report.
This after the lawmaker was implicated in the shooting the DJ at a club in January 2020. Law enforcement officers apprehended the legislator following the incident.
An attempted murder charge against Babu Owino was dropped after DJ Evolve filed an application to have the matter withdrawn.
Disorderly behaviour offence charges were later levelled against the vocal legislator.
