Francis Kombo, Irene Gakwa's father, whose daughter went missing in the US has called on President Joe Biden's administration to expedite the investigation process.
Gakwa disappeared after meeting her lover online, on February 24. Speaking seven months later, on Friday, September 8, Kombo detailed that his daughter did not sound distressed at all when they last conversed.
He further added his daughter was full of life and had made travel plans. But after that call, Kombo never had another chance to speak to his daughter.
The embattled father who survived three plane crashes explained that his health had deteriorated owing to her daughter's disappearance.
"What I fear most is to hear that she is nowhere (to be found) yet there is somebody who knows her whereabouts. I just need to know what happened and for what reason," he lamented.
"She was supposed to come home for Christmas this year. I was to buy the ticket myself if she couldn't afford it. Now I don't know if I'll ever see her again," the father added.
According to Kombo, his daughter moved to the US to pursue a nursing career. Her elder brothers then hosted her before she met a lover online.
Her brother's affidavits filed in court indicate that before Gakwa disappeared, she had packed her belongings and was ready to walk out of their union.
After months of dating, she allegedly lost over Ksh400,000 to the man who is now on the US most wanted list. The cops are using a car and some missing materials to track the missing Kenyan woman.
Gakwa's lover had earlier been arrested and charged with two felony counts of theft, one felony count of unlawful use of a credit card and two felony counts of crimes against intellectual property.
He was later released before he vanished again. Detectives appealed to the public to help track the two missing lovers.
"US police law enforcement officers are thus asking the public for any information about a grey or silver-coloured Subaru Crosstrek with Idaho license plates which may have been seen trespassing on private property or appearing out of place in rural areas of Campbell County between February and March 2022," a police statement read.
