It is no secret that politicians spare no expense in offering their children the best quality education that money can buy, and for president-elect William Ruto, his case is no different.

As he prepares to take over the instruments of power on Tuesday, September 13, the outgoing Deputy President and his family will take centre stage in the world of politics. To date, his family has shied off the public eye and managed to keep their personal lives under wraps.

In particular, Ruto's children have only graced public events on countable occasions- with the recent one being the press briefing at Ruto's Karen residence minutes after the Supreme Court verdict.

The DP's eldest son, Nick Ruto, is perceived as the heir to the proverbial hustler throne. With many critics and pundits opining that he is best suited to claim the mantle once his father hangs his boots, all eyes will be keen on Nick's next steps.

Nick is an alumnus of Catholic University Of Eastern Africa (CUEA) having graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Law. He later joined the Kenya School of Law where he was admitted to the bar by Chief Justice David Maraga in February 2019.

On the other hand, Charleen Chelagat Ruto, the DP's second-born daughter, graduated at Daystar University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication in 2015.

At the time, the president-elect lauded his daughter for the momentous achievement.

“Today I am a proud father, our daughter graduated from Daystar University. She has made my wife Rachel and I proud. Parents should always strive to support their children in whatever way they can," Ruto stated.

Charlene is currently a director at Weston Hotel, Lang'ata, Nairobi.

In June 2019, Stephanie Jepchumba Ruto graduated with a degree in law at Strathmore University. Ruto, who attended her daughter's graduation, acknowledged her dedication and sheer hard work in the profession.

"Congratulations to Stephanie Ruto on your graduation from Strathmore with a law degree. Your dedication, hard work, self-sacrifice and God's grace has triumphed. As you join your peers in the legal profession, may you stand with the tenets of justice, fidelity, and impartiality," the DP noted.

June Ruto is a graduate of United States International University in Nairobi where she did her Bachelor's Degree in Diplomacy.

The DP's daughter also holds a Master's degree in International Studies from the University of Queensland in Australia.

In December 2019, Ruto's youngest daughter, Abby Ruto emerged among the best candidates in that year's KCPE exams after scoring 406 marks. The pupil from Greenvale Academy in Uasin Gishu County was later admitted to Alliance Girls High School, Kiambu County.
