President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza alliance and Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja Coalition party have shared committees of the powerful Council of Governors.
After electing Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as the CoG Chair on Saturday, September 17, the county bosses elected chairpersons of 18 executive committees.
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wa Matangi will chair the Energy, Roads, Transport and Infrastructure Committee while his Kakamega counterpart Fernandes Barasa will lead the Finance docket. Barasa expressed gratitude to his fellow county bosses.
"Special gratitude to my fellow governors for trusting me with the chairmanship of the Finance, Planning and Economic Affairs Committee," Barasa stated.
