Chebukati's Wife, Uhuru Allies Among Shortlisted Candidates for PS Jobs

Mary Chebukati, the wife of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson, Wafula Chebukati is among 477 shortlisted candidates for the positions of Principal Secretaries (PSs).

Mary was shortlisted as candidate 296 in the list published in the local dailies by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Also shortlisted were allies of former President Uhuru Kenyatta who served in government in various capacities.

Among them were, Housing, Agriculture and ICT PSs, Charles Hinga, Francis Owino and Jerome Ochieng respectively.

Other PSs in Uhuru's government who made it to the list were; Esther Koimett (Broadcasting and Telecommunications), Peter Kaberia (Industrialisation), Julius Jwan (Education), Saitoti Torome (Planning), and Nelson Marwa (Social Protection). 

Belio Kipsang (Regional and Northern Corridor Development), Margaret Mwakimu (TVET) and Fred Sigor (Wildlife) were also shortlisted.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi and Director General for Health Dr Patrick Amoth also made it to the list.

In the shortlisted candidates, a number of President William Ruto's political allies were also included.

Former Langa'ta Member of Parliament Nixon Korir and Isaac Mwaura were among the successful 477 applicants.

Korir lost his Langata seat to Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o while Mwaura lost in the United Democratic Alliance party primaries.

Other Kenya Kwanza politicians also included in the list were Chris Wamalwa who contested for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat and lost to Governor George Natembeya and former Narok governor, Samuel Tunai.

The 477 candidates will be interviewed by PSC as of October 12. Names of successful applicants with them be submitted to Ruto for nomination.
