A family in Indian is yet to come to terms with the mysterious disappearance of a TV executive who was on vacation in Kenya.
Friends of Zulfiqar Khan who served as the Chief Executive of Balaji Telefilms, Star TV and HOOQ India among others accused both Governments of inaction claiming that the TV executive has been missing since mid-July - a total of 70 days.
Khan vanished along with his friend Mohamed Zaid Sami Kidwai as well as their driver Nicodemus Mwania along Mombasa Road.
According to investigations, the trio had left a popular club in Westlands, Nairobi, at 11:53p.m. before they were reported missing three hours later.
Sleuths from Lang'ata were informed of their abandoned car, along Mombasa Road with its engine still running.
Avinash Pandey, who is the CEO of ABP Network, announced Khan's disappearance on his Twitter account and tagged the Prime Minister of India as well as the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson in the South Asian Nation.
"My friend and ex-colleague Zulfiqar Khan (Ex-SVP Star TV) is missing for over 70 days from Kenya. Praying for his safety and hoping to see him back home soon," announced Pandey.
Another Indian journalist attached to Indian Today, Shiv Aroor joined growing calls for justice for the former media executive.
"It’s been 70 days since Indian citizen Zulfiqar Khan (former senior exec at Star and Balaji) went missing in Kenya while on tour, believed to have been abducted along with another Indian national and their local driver," noted Aroor.
A spot check on his social media shows that Khan last shared a video clip and photos from his Masai Mara trip on July 21, 2022. He was not active on Twitter and his last post was a retweet of a post made in March 2021.
The tycoon has 19-years experience in broadcast and digital media under his belt having had stints at companies like HOOQ India, EROS Now, and Star TV.
He started his career in 1999 and boasts of over 10 years of leading and driving transformational revenue growth in both start-up and large and complex organizations.
