President William Ruto on Sunday evening, October 9, arrived in Dar es Salaam for a state visit to the neighbouring country.
The visit culminated in seven deals made between Ruto and his Tanzanian counterpart, Samia Suluhu in a bid to bolster bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the talks, both Heads of State agreed to extend the foundation set by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta in fostering trade relations while enhancing regional cooperation.
The talks symbolised the important strides made by former president Uhuru in easing trade barriers.

Ruto's visit
Ruto arrived quietly in Dar es Salaam on Sunday evening, October 9, on his maiden trip after a tour in Uganda, where he attended independence day celebrations.
The president, who was received by the Tanzanian delegation at the airport, held talks with Suluhu the following day.
As a show of goodwill, Ruto presented President Suluhu with boxes of teabags of three varieties of tea processed and packaged in Kenya.
On her part, Suluhu gifted him with an iconic painting of a house along the Indian Ocean beachfront.
The gifts marked Ruto's two-day visit as he flew back to the country hours later.
Uhuru's visit
Retired president Uhuru was officially received by Suluhu at State House on the second day of his two-day State visit on December 10, 2021. The purpose of the trip was to mark the 60th anniversary of the country's independence.
What ensued was a State reception where Uhuru inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by a detachment of the Tanzania People's Defence Force. He was also accorded a 21-gun salute, which is the long-standing military honour reserved for visiting Heads of State and Government in the Commonwealth.
At the culmination of the visit, Suluhu gifted Uhuru 20 exotic Korongo birds (Heron) as Christmas presents.
On her part, she requested Uhuru to let Tanzania rhinos marry those in Kenya. Uhuru obliged and comically joked about a wedding celebration, a cake-cutting ceremony and a reception to celebrate the marriage.
