Ivy Chelimo Clarifies Hefty Salary, 24 Hr Security in Gachagua Job Offer

Content creator, Ivy Chelimo, denied receiving 24 hours security protection from a special police unit drawn from the office of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking after meeting Gachagua on Monday, October 17, the artist who coined the moniker 'Riggy G', further dispelled reports that she was offered a hefty salary, allowances and other gratuities. 

She maintained that Gachagua offered her the opportunity to join her communication team after sending one of his sons to track her. 

"He asked me what I wanted and also inquired if I could be interested in joining the communication team. I really needed a job to pay my bills as I had just finished University," Chelimo told Youtuber Vincent Mboya.

"It was my first time boarding a military chopper, and somehow, I felt tense because of the protocols involved while moving around with the Deputy President," she added.

Chelimo disclosed that Gachagua had made plans to empower the youths in different parts, resonating with her passions.

She further revealed that the Office of the Deputy President was planning on bringing on board comedian, KK Mwenyewe, who gained overnight fame for mimicking Gachagua

"I want to thank the Deputy President for the opportunity you gave me to grow my wings. Thank you for the initiatives you have put in place for the youth.

"We pray by the end of five years, your agenda for the youth will come to fruition," Chelimo remarked.

The law graduate further hinted at taking a stab at elective politics in 2027. 

Gachagua had promised to track her down after the moniker Riggy G went viral on various social media platforms.

"The young lady watched me during the deputy presidential debate with Martha Karua [Azimio la Umoja running mate] and thought my name was a bit difficult."

"She then decided to make it a little melodious and crafted Riggy G. I have looked for her and awarded her a job opportunity in my office," the DP stated.
